Mano
Murthy is the leading music director in the south in 2007 after the
tremendous success of his latest mega hit "Mungaru Male",
the Kannada film that is setting new standards in the film industry.
In 2007, all the seven songs in Mungaru Male top the major charts
in FM, TV channels and internet ever since their release. Won several
major awards and continue to win many awards for best music director
for Mungaru Male.
If
there is one music director in the Kannada film industry who is singularly
responsible for transforming the way the industry looked at its music
content, then it is certainly Mano Murthy. Though Mano Murthy has
been highly consistent in the musical content he was providing for
the Kannada films, he has been hugely recognized only after the release
of the film "Mungaru Male'. The songs of the film became so popular
that the film attracted even the non Kannada film goers for its high
quality of musical content. That is one reason why the film became
such a huge block buster in the Kannada film industry.
Mano
Murthy got his due rather late, but his well deserved recognition
got him a large contingent of fans. With the huge success of Mungaru
Male, Mano Murthy became a trend setter. He was the most sought after
and albums used to sell solely on his name on the cover. And his musical
contributions were eagerly awaited. The musical success of films like
"Milana' and "Ee Bhandana' was due to the excellent efforts
that he had put in. He looked for variety in content and proved that
he is not only a master of melody, but he is also a master of variety.
Though he is much sought after by the other South Indian film industries,
he has decided to concentrate only in Kannada films. Now, he has decided
to take on a Bollywood project for which discussions are now going
on.
